Love Your Heart

hearthealth2It is imperative that you love your heart through an understanding that the heart so often reflects your emotions and the love, or lack thereof, all around you. If you have problems now with your heart, it is important to ask yourself:  “When did the symptoms appear? What was going on in my life then or within the three to six months before that?”

According to Sara Paddison, author of The Hidden Power of the Heart: Discovering an Unlimited Source of Intelligence, “The heart [is made to work] without interruption for 70 to 80 years, without repair or replacement, day and night. It beats 100,000 times a day, approximately 40 million times a year and, within a span of 70 years, supplies the pumping capacity for nearly 3 billion cardiac pulsations. It pumps two gallons of blood per minute, 100 gallons per hour, through a vascular system about 60,000 miles in length—two-and-a-half times the circumference of Earth.”

It is important that you re-think your heart health because when your emotions get bottled up, something in your heart or circulation is bound to be stressed. There are exceptions… but heart problems don’t usually show up unless emotions are involved… from a recent trauma or the accumulation of emotional stress.

This is where meridian tapping, energy therapy, and EFT can help you to love your heart – by removing the emotional obstacles to health.

If you know that you carry heart-felt emotional baggage, then use this handy tapping point regularly and talk to your subconscious, coaxing it to let go of the old hurt and notice positive and healthy changes you are making in your life. The “Heart Center” tapping area includes placing your index finger in your upper mid-chest on the thymus point while placing the other three fingers of that hand spread out below in a vertical line between your breasts. Tap there gently and acknowledge that you love your heart; you love yourself; you love letting go of past hurts so that you may heal.

The heart is an amazing organ that so often reflects our emotions and the love, or lack thereof, all around us. A focus on your heart health during this month containing Valentine’s Day is much more important than focusing on that holiday greeting or gift.

Doctors and patients world-wide are “Rethinking Heart Health,” the title of Linda Sechrist’s feature article in the February, 2014 issue of Natural Awakenings Magazine*. Their fresh approach gets back to basics and makes total sense. One of them, Dr. James Forleo, who has intensively studied the subject, notes that “When our emotions get bottled up, something in our heart or circulation has to give. There are exceptions… but heart problems don’t usually show up unless emotions are involved.”

In my own Naturopathic studies I find that looking at basic, natural causes to body ailments related to the “whole picture” of the patient’s life, often holds the clue both to the initiating root cause as well as the solution to healing the heart health issue. Look at your life and then draw the obvious connections with your present health. Ask yourself:  When did your ailments begin? What was going on then in your life?

Enjoy this month with its celebration of love… by loving yourself and healing your heart!
